Functional safety management and verification is way more important than i initially thought. I knew very little about functional safety. I knew of it's existence and a little about what it is used for. I know the fundamentals of using IEC61508 to use during a functional safety project. I am able to apply the standard to projects that really need it.
The course provided a solid understanding of functional safety and risk assessment with clear structure and real-word relevance. Instructor (Michael) maintained a good pace throughout the training, always encouraging practical thinking and the right safety mindset. I would recommend the course. I was familiar with EN-50126, EN-50128 and EN-50129 standards that are connected to the topic. I would say I'm more interested than your normal participant. I feel good about new knowledge i gained from the course.

Not a 10 just because I consider the cost very high and not affordable to everyone. The importance of the safety manager role I had some previous knowledge on couple of different standards, but mainly limited to few specific development phases. I have an overall vision and a wider understanding of the process.
There are not many colleagues to recommend. That's why I answered 7. MooN. I've been working around the topic for a few years already, so not everything in the training was new. My knowledge of the subject has improved

. It is very important to know about Functional Safety for everyone, even if that person is not likely to hugely influence the FS/SIL of the system. And this course and the lecturer gave us a very fluid representation with practical examples. Hardware Design, Hardware Reliability (PFD) Before the training, I have heard about SIL and safety in general (apart from EN 50128 practices), but I was completely unaware of the Hardware Integrity part. Now i can say that I have some ideas about how to upgrade/maintain the SIL/FS of a safety system from both hardware and software point of view.

Good and informative course which gave a larger view of the functional safety field. Good pacing with modules. How FSM works with hardware. Worked 6 years with railway controlling business (testing). Participated to a functional safety course held by employer. More knowledge about software than hardware. Better and clearer picture about the 'big picture' of functional safety idea and more knowledge how FSM works with hardware than before.
There was though different versions on the material presented and the material sent out before the training. Would appreciate an updated version to be distributed. The training is aimed for high level professionals and the teacher had extensive knowledge and experience. All questions and discussions were insightful. You need experience from working with functional safety to really be able to utilise the content and the exercises. For me there was a lot of useful discussions during the training. One particular was the emphasis on functional safety management. This was before the training one of my corner stones and now I feel that I have formal support for this stand. FuSa specialist with more then 10 years of experience from work related to several standard areas. My view is that the standards have much in common and that experience from one area i transferrable to other areas, even useful in understanding challenges. I have a strong interest in structured ways of working to solve complex problems. My view on the standard areas as variants of the same principles has been confirmed. I have a more solid platform for my professional corner stones when advising clients in their path to achieve functional safety.

V-model slide. Test questions were very tough and course material it self didn't quite cover all. Perhaps there could've been more cases like in exam during course. Of course I understand that person should fully understand the subject in order to apply in practice. Overall the course was really interesting and informative. Personally I enjoy more slides than a lot of text as course material. Everybody working with safety related system should take this course. It gives you the overall picture of everything. E.g, FTA was totally new for me. Parallel system enables me to have SIL 1/ SIL2 and still reach SIL3 I knew a bit of this and that from there and there. Everything is 'sewn' together now, and i gathered also new information
The course provides an excellent quickie 'shortcut' to those who would need an IEC Functional Safety certificate but do not have lengthy experience. None that I can think of. Very little conscious knowledge about IEC 61508 and safety systems before enrolling. I did notice having lots of practical experience experience in quality assurance for critical space SW and systems helped me a bit. I feel much more aware of the IEC fundamentals, after studying for half a dozen exam retries :-)

In addition, it is always good to understand some amount of details also and I got lot´s of those. I also learned, that I now know only very small part of the topic, but it´s better than nothing.
